Our RyC researcher, David Polo, presented the talk entitled “Pathogenic viruses and bivalve mollusks. A One Health perspective” at the latest CICA Happy Hour session held last week.
He explained how fecal pollution in marine environments influences the accumulation and transmission of enteric viruses through bivalve mollusks, posing a threat to public health. He also underscored the importance of virological surveillance and the proper management of water and marine ecosystems.
