StemBach Programme 2021

Daniela, Alba and Pablo, from IES Eusebio da Guarda (A Coruña) shared with us several weeks of work in the NanoToxGen laboratory within the STEMBach program of the University of A Coruña.

The STEMbach program is a Bachelor of Excellence in Science and Technology, and its objective is to promote the acquisition of key competencies for the 21st century, both transversal ones and those more properly linked to the STEM field (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). During the time they spent with us, the students became familiar with cell culture, preparation of nanoparticle suspensions, and different techniques for characterizing the biological effects of exposure to them.

The work carried out, “Cerium oxide nanoparticles: the biomedical tools of the future?”, will finally be defended in the coming months at the Center for Advanced Scientific Research (CICA) of the University of A Coruña.

We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!
